Dyslexia Awareness Month 2026

October 2026 dedicated to Dyslexia

This year, the CDA is taking part in Dyslexia Awareness Month, which takes place every October and in which participate organisations from across Europe.

Throughout October 2026, we want to raise awareness of dyslexia among the general public. To this end, we collaborated with people with dyslexia. We asked them to share their personal experiences: How do they experience this learning disorder? How would they explain it to people who are not familiar with it? What challenges do they face in their daily lives, and what has helped them overcome them? The result is a series of inspiring personal accounts.

Throughout October 2026, we will share a series of visuals resulting from this enriching collaboration. The aim is to foster a better understanding of dyslexia and to encourage greater empathy towards people affected by it.

In addition, we have developed a brochure for education and psychosocial professionals, as well as people with dyslexia and their families. It brings together the key information on dyslexia.

To complement our awareness-raising activities, we are also organising a conference with French-American researcher Cassandra Potier-Watkins, PhD, from the Collège de France, which is open to anyone interested. A series of trainings for education professionals will complement the programme.
