Rehabilitation and therapy

Speech therapy

The speech therapist is a speech and communication therapist. Within the CDA, the speech therapist is involved in the assessment of written language and mathematical skills and their rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation takes place in one-to-one care with the aim of consolidating the foundations necessary for learning (work on phonological awareness, sound-letter correlation, orthographic rules, etc.). This is done in a playful and motivating setting for the child.

The coaching and training of teachers is also part of the speech therapist’s tasks.

Psychomotor and occupational therapy

The psychomotor therapists help people reappropriate their bodies and learn to better adapt to their environment by drawing on their motor, cognitive, affective and relational aspects.

Occupational therapists support people of all ages in improving their ability to perform everyday tasks and achieve the greatest possible independence. Through targeted exercises, activity-oriented training and counselling, they promote participation in social life.

To assess a person’s abilities and difficulties, the CDA’s rehabilitation team conduct a specialised assessment (tests and examinations). This assessment includes qualitative observations and enables us to develop a treatment plan.

In addition, the therapists of the CDA are responsible for rehabilitation (psychomotor prerequisites for learning), group or individual support and learning to write on the keyboard.

Guidance and counselling of families and pedagogical teams as well as further training and coaching complement their tasks.
